CNG is a cleaner-burning fuel you'll see mostly on buses, fleets and some cars. Here's whether it makes sense for you.
CNG in one paragraph
Compressed natural gas is mostly methane, stored at high pressure in reinforced tanks. It burns cleaner than petrol or diesel, producing less CO₂ and fewer particulates, which is why municipal fleets and buses often run on it. Cars can be factory-built for CNG or converted, usually as bi-fuel with petrol as backup.
CNG vs LPG — they're not the same
People mix these up constantly. LPG is propane/butane stored as a liquid at low pressure; CNG is methane stored as a gas at very high pressure. They need different tanks, different filling equipment and different station infrastructure. A car set up for one cannot use the other.
Check which fuel your vehicle takes. "Gas" can mean petrol, LPG or CNG depending on where you are. On the map, filter specifically for CNG so you don't drive to an LPG-only site by mistake.
